Erik Jaspers holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He moved to Information technology early-on in his careerwithPhilips Electronics and receivedpost-academic education in IT by Philips IOT in collaboration with the University of Eindhoven. He nowhas around 35years of experience in IT.
Over timehehasheld various management positions in software development, IT Project Management and Information Management for multi-national companies includingPhilips andATOS (formerly Originat the time).
For the last nineteenyears hehas been working for Planon Software, the leading European IWMS/CAFMsoftware vendor. Over these years he has held senior management positions managing the development of Planon's software solutions, including the introduction of Agile Project Management for software product development (SCRUM) at the forefront of the adoption of such methodologiesaround 2005.
Mr.Jaspers currentlyheads up Planon'sproduct innovation policy,focusedon translating market developments and requirements into leading software solutions for Real Estate and Facility Management.
He contributed to a prize winning scientific publication on agile product management of at the University of Utrecht (2009),to IFMA publications ‘Work on the Move’ (2011 and 2016) ‘Technology for Facility Managers’ (2012 and 2017)and the German GEFMA publication ‘CAFM-Handbuch (2018). He was editor of Planon’s publication ‘A Quest for Excellence’ (2015) and has authoredarticles on technology for FM for magazines like FMJ and the Real Estate Journal (2014-2017). He is a regularspeaker at Real Estate and Facility Management conferencesaround the world.
He is a member of the German GEFMA CAFM workgroup,is special advisor to the IFMA Foundation, board member of the IFMA Research & Benchmarking Institute, member of the IFMA EuropeanAdvisory Board as well asmember of the IFMA‘Workplace Evolutionaries’ and ‘IT Community’ leadership teams.
