The best events out there are the ones that tap into the heartbeat of their industries, the ones that understand not just what’s important now, but what’s on the horizon.
Facilities Management has always been a tricky profession to pin down one topic that speaks to everyone – one FM’s run of the mill task is another’s critical issue, everything very much depends on the environment you’re responsible for.
One thing that’s unavoidable for everyone though is technology – recently it’s been the biggest driver of change in every facet of society and the workplace is no exception.
With that in mind, this year we’re proud to launch Smart Buildings Expo alongside Facilities Show. This new show will bring together a collection of cutting edge suppliers working in the workplace technology industry along with three feature areas; Educate, Consult and Experience.
Educate will give visitors the chance to hear from thought leaders on the benefits of going down the smart buildings route in three days of free seminar and panel debate content.
We understand that different FM’s will be at different stages of Smart Buildings.
Plus, different environments have different challenges, so Consult will present an opportunity for visitors to speak to experts in pre-arranged meetings who will give independent advice on where to start, how to avoid the common pitfalls and what they may not have considered.
Experience is our showpiece feature for Smart Buildings Expo. We thought that the best way to demonstrate just what technology in the workplace can achieve was by building a 196m2 smart office, on the show floor, in two days.
We’ve teamed up with master systems integrators, Vanti, to make this possible. You’ll be able to see real working examples of innovations from some of the leading suppliers in this space.
Organised tours will be available, or visitors will be able to take different environments such as meeting and huddle spaces, open plan work areas and a command and control centre at their own pace, trying the technology as they go.
Whatever stage you’re at with regards to bringing in technology to your workspace, however big you think the challenges ahead are and however likely or unlikely you think that you’ll be able to adopt a Smart Buildings mentality there will be something at the show for you.
Registration for Facilities Show is free and your pass gives you access not only to Smart Buildings Expo but also to another new launch for 2019, Workplace Wellbeing Show.
All of these events run alongside IFSEC, FIREX and Safety and Health Expo meaning that there should be something for every FM serious about keeping themselves at the forefront of their profession.
